The New York State Commission of Correction ("SCOC") is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all information submitted by the public as persons access our website. SCOC will not at any time release any information to unauthorized third parties.

If an individual sends email to SCOC, the agency may retain their email address and email content in order to determine response time and customer satisfaction.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
The SCOC website and components do not use "cookies." Cookies are files or entries in files placed on the hard drive of a person who is browsing a site. Such entries are used and maintained by the site's software for various purposes. The SCOC site also does not use "third party" cookies, which track the pages accessed by the browser after the individual has left the site nor does SCOC collect or retain data on the referring page when a browser accesses the contents of the SCOC site. The information on which pages are accessed and how often they are accessed is used to determine site performances and areas of public interest. Release of Information
SCOC is committed to the privacy of visitors to our site. We do not sell, rent, or release this data to third parties. We may, however, provide both Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information in response to a court order or subpoena in connection with a government investigation. SCOC will report to the appropriate law enforcement agencies any activities that are or may be unlawful, as well as email containing or implying threats or other illegal activity.
